Adam Emerging

I made a deal with myself this week. I really wanted to meet up with some friends from guild Thursday night for a stitching evening, but I had to take a test at school this week also. I ramped it up a bit and got my test out of the way on Wednesday night. I scored a perfect score (1000). Go me! So, last night I began my four-day weekend (I took today off work), and I was able to meet up with my stitching buddy at Barnes & Noble for an evening of guilt-free stitching! Since I’ve done all I can on my peacock for now, I decided to go back to working on Adam & Eve (CHS). I’ve done some fill in on the tree and last night I started in on filling in Adam’s face. He’s got on helluva five o’clock shadow going on there, huh? I am hopeful that over the next few days I can spend a good amount of time stitching and have some serious progress to show on this piece.

I haven’t gone back to stitching on Shores because frankly, I am not happy with it. I really don’t like the coverage of one strand on 36ct. So, I’ve been debating what to do. Start over on 40ct? Leave it and hope I learn to love it? Well, I think I’ve figured out what I want to do. So, I’ll have to do some test stitching and see what I think. But, that’s the reason Shores has been tucked away for a bit. I hope to get it back out soon, because I do dearly love that design. I’d just like to dearly love my stitching of it too.

Anyway, I have some other goodies to show you next time. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

I am grateful for a stitching night.

  1. Yay you! Great job on your exam.

Adam looks so good on black. Sorry to hear you aren’t happy with Shores. I think it looks good 1 strand, but then I’m stitching ATS the same way. Think of like this, the slightly sparse coverage gives it a thrifty & vintage feel. Which I think is correct for Shores & ATS both.

Way to go on your exam, Michelle!!!! Love your A&E sampler and on the black, it’s just gorgeous!!! I think your HRH piece looks great with one over 36 – if you decide you can’t live with it – I sure could!!!!! I’d be happy to take that on!

  7. Love how Adam is looking! Have an enjoyable 4 day holiday, sounds like you are deserving!!

I haven’t started any of the HOHR series, but have Villages kitted up on 36 ct, and I had already decided to use 2 strands, instead of my usual 1 strand. I think these pieces look much richer with a bit more coverage! Good luck with your decision!

  9. Well, go you! That’s excellent. Your A& E is looking great. I have never worked any more on mine and I guess I should be ashamed. Can’t wait to see what you decide with the Shores. I go back and forth with the one on 36. On some projects it looks okay and on others it doesn’t. Hope whatever you decide doesn’t set you back too far with the stitching.

  15. I don’t know if I’ve told you this, BUT…your start on this made me get seriously impulsive and I bought the chart, fabric and NPI silks (never used them before)….I have it kitted, someday I’ll stitch it! 🙂
Do you think there Adam had a razor? Hmmm…deep thoughts by Tim Handy…

  17. Congrats on your exam Michelle! Your A&E is looking great! I’m sorry you’re not happy with your Shores. I would definitely switch if you’re not happy. It’s a huge project that will take you awhile – you might as well be happy with it. You can always use the fabric for something else – or even sell it! Good luck with whatever you decide!

  19. Congratulations on your perfect test score!

Adam looks wonderful even if he does have a 5 o’clock shadow! This is going to be a beautiful sampler.

    Enjoy your weekend!

  21. mainely stitching

    Congratulations on your exam. 😀

Adam’s looking great! As for Shores, fabric really does tend to be an issue with this one. Usually I like the sparser coverage, but I wasn’t happy with it for this project and will be re-starting mine.

  23. LOL about the five o’clock shadow! I know the disappointment you must feel about the coverage on shores–I have a sampler problem like that too, so I’ve sort of parked it. What to do, what to do…
