Belated Shamrocks

Whew! It was a busy weekend. So, here is a belated St. Patrick’s Day photo for you.

This is Fancy Shamrocks by the Sweetheart Tree. I stitched this back in 2001, and finished it into a door hanger.

Here’s the back.

And, now I suppose it’s time to get the Easter stuff out, huh? Well, I spent some time this weekend working on the honeymoon album for Eric. I basically have it done, I just have some proofreading to do before I finalize it. But, I should be able to get it finished in the next couple of days. I was running constantly this weekend, and didn’t get any stitching in really. I decided though, in my limited time to stitch that I would work on Baby Garden.

I made some progress, and I just love this piece. I am gonna have to spend some more time with it, if I want to have it done for my Goddaughter’s birthday in May. I didn’t work on Barnabee on Friday night, because by the time I sat down finally, it was almost time for bed. So, Barnabee will be back this week! Yesterday, I went by my local quilt shop to pick up my block of the month. I actually completely forgot to pick up my block last month, so I picked it up too (luckily, they still had some!). I am now three months behind on piecing these, so I will have to take an afternoon soon to work on them. Can you believe we’re up to month 9 already? It seems like it’s been a while since I did any sewing or quilting. I am also reading along in Book 2 of Harry Potter. I’m not moving quite as fast on it as I did on Book 1, but I am enjoying it immensely. Re-reading them again is so enjoyable, because I get to be reintroduced to all those delightful details that I had forgotten. I am also still stitching along on my biscornu exchange piece. I should have the stitching finished up this week easily, and then can assemble it for the April 9th mail-out. My Just Nan RR piece is due to be mailed out the same day.

Lizzy mentioned my Bay Sampler in her comment on my last post. It is sitting patiently waiting for me to have time to stitch on it. I think the last time I worked on it was in August. What a pity, I just love this piece. And stitching with the silks is always wonderful! But, here’s a little reminder of it…

And, strangely last night I dreamed about stitching the Papillon Mystery Sampler that was featured in the first few issues of The Gift of Stitching. That’s it on the right hand side.

I’ve had the thread and the fabric for this since the second installment, I just haven’t managed to get around to it. I may see if I can work it in somehow as a travel project. Mainly, my travel project is something I work on Tuesday evenings between work and class since I don’t go home in between. I should be able to stitch a little motif each week. But, first to finish the biscornu! Hope you’re all having a great start to the week. Eric and I are changing some of our eating habits beginning today, so I will let you know how it goes!

I am grateful for the realization that things don’t have to be hard.

  1. I stopped working on the bay sampler around the same time you did, and we’re at about the same spot too! LOL–time for me to get it out also. Wonder where I put it….

  7. very nice door hanger! Love the green : ) yes, time now for spring & Easter stitching stuff.

Awesome progress on your projects. The Bay Sampler is so interesting.

And, for your question, SOLII is a non-stitching blog. Stitches of Life II was started when the beta blogger began. I wanted to practice beta. then, decided to put my family stuff & reading stuff there as Xanga [my book blog] was doing a lot of changes.

Michelle, That Baby Garden is just precious! You must be loving to stitch it amoungst the other projects. BTW, I’m also very fond of your gratitudes at the end of each new entry. You are an inspiration. I may steal that idea..or maybe you’ll cause a wave across “blogland!”
