Bordering

I’ve been so busy I am exhausted by the end of the day, so not a lot of stitching has been going on. Have I mentioned I have a new job? Same company, just moved into a new position. And it’s been crazy busy for the last couple of weeks. But, you can see my itty bitty progress on Where My Heart Blooms. I’m working my way around the border. Here’s hoping it meets on the other side! The more I work on this piece, the more I love it. And I think this photo is actually pretty darn close to being accurate color-wise. Eric taught me a new trick in Photoshop and I think it’s helping me with my processing to get better color.

I was going to work on my Scottish Sampler some more this weekend, but a bad migraine had me totally out of commission all day Saturday. And after seeing the new AotH release from BBD, I was inspired to get this out and work on it a bit. I’ve now put back in all the stitching I had to rip out during my last session. I made the eyes on the peacock’s tail the wrong color, but by the time I realized it, I decided to just leave it. At least he’s in the right place now.

But, I’m moving along on this border too now, and think I’ll probably finish that up before continuing on the motifs. I’m really loving this on 40ct. And I can’t wait to get some more color in this block.

I’m really enjoying my stitching lately, and it is so nice to be able to come home in the evenings and relax with one of my many WIPs.

I am grateful for the best photography teacher.

  1. Congratulations on your promotion at your job! Your AotH is looking good. I have started this also but jump around a lot. I had to wait for part number 4 – Pink Hill – so that is where I stopped. Will have to get this one back in rotation soon. Trying to get something finished instead of having a bunch of starts and no finishes.

  13. Looking good Michelle! I know what you mean about the borders, I always am a bit nervous when I get to the point where they should meet up. Good for you getting a new position – hoping in time as you get into the new routine it won’t be as busy. Even 20 minutes of stitching at night makes you feel like you did SOMEthing you wanted to do with your day other than work and fall into bed!

  15. Your stitching looks so good. I am glad you jumped back on AotH – the newest patters look great. I love the swans on the 7th one – those castles we visited had lots of swan motifs because the king really, really, really liked swans… I really want to stitch both projects, but you know how it goes…. Sorry to hear about the migraine – that just bites.

  17. You are doing some very nice stitching. Hopefully you’ll have some more stitching time once you’re completely accustomned to your new job.

  23. Hi MIchelle – I used to have terrible migraines for years – debilating migraines – then I changed doctors and he took me off birth control pills and they stopped and I’ve never had another one since – just thought I’d pass that along – it’s amazing what meds can do to you.

Love your BBD progress – both look great – I am plugging away on Snow Garden – it’s been hard for me to get thru that one because all the colors are so similiar – I keep making small mistakes and having to pull out. URGHHH- good luck with the new position! Melody

  25. Congratulations on the promotion! I hope it’s not always crazy.

    Share your photoshop secret!

Your WIPs look great. The whole matching up the border thing scares me. I try to not get too much ahead.

  27. Congrats on the new position. And don’t sweat that border. It’s got a big of that irregular/primitive look to it, one or a few stitches off will only add to the charm.

P.S. Did you sign up for Jackie’s online class?

  31. Congratulations on the new position at work!

Your borders are coming along nicely in spite of not being able to put in the time on your WIPs you’d like. I love that peacock, btw.
