Taking Anna’s cue, I thought I would document my day in photos. I missed the 25th, but went ahead and did this for April anyway (the 29th). Close enough, right? I can’t say it was a hugely exciting day, but it was fun taking photos all day.
I usually begin my day checking email while Eric gets ready for work. I, of course, have help doing this. I have become proficient at typing with a cat on my lap.

Next, I make myself breakfast. During the week, this is a smoothie. All the ingredients are here, except for the almond butter, which I still hadn’t taken out of the fridge (or the pantry rather, since I had to open a new jar). Basically, skim milk, plain fat-free yogurt, wheat germ, almond butter, protein powder and a little cinnamon. I give Romeo his shot right before I make my smoothie.

Then, yesterday morning it was off to have my car repaired. It had been overheating. It turns out my coolant fan had to be replaced (not just because the motor was failing, but also because I had somehow sheared off a fan blade).

Luckily, I had a book to start for my book club. I got about 100 pages into this before my car was ready to go.

Then, off to the dry cleaner to take Eric’s shirt he wore to the wedding. Laundered, light starch, on a hanger.

Then I was lucky enough to get to take my friend, Sherri, to lunch for her birthday. We had Mexican food, of course. Eric doesn’t like Mexican food – so Sherri and I share our love of it together. I had beef tacos…mmm.

And afterwards, in the car (where there is no salsa), we had show and tell. Sherri and I are SAL-ing on the Red Thread together. This is the first time we’ve seen our two pieces side by side.

I had a little bit of time at home before I was off to meet Eric at the gym. Of course, I had to take this photo for the Grammar Bitch. Notice (if you can), they’ve left out the word “be”, which has been driving me crazy for weeks!

It’s difficult to nonchalantly take a photo while doing your cardio.

Then, back home for dinner. We had salads (Eric’s is the one on the left loaded with blue cheese dressing (mine had raspberry walnut vinaigrette).

And beef kebabs (off the kebab), with beans.

Finally around nine, I was able to settle in for some stitching while watching Highlander. (I, too, am wearing OPI polish – No Autographs, Please).
It was a good day. The interview today went well – it turned into two interviews actually. I hope to hear something tomorrow.
I am grateful for good friends!
What fun! I love Mexican food too! I wish I had a scratch-and-taste computer screen 🙂

Thank you for letting us have a glimpse of your day Michelle!
Your SAL is looking wonderful – how nice that you got to compare in person 🙂
Good luck for the job hunting!

Michelle, I loved seeing your day in photos. I will have to try that sometime. I love Mexican food also. Yum! And as for the word “be” missing from the sign, that would drive me nuts as well. I will never forget a sign I would see on a main road in our town that spelled “available” as “availble.” It would drive me mad! Every time we went by my boyfriend would look at me and go “don’t even say it!” And your red thread piece looks great.

Thanks for the photos! Have you been following the adventures of the Typo Eradication Advancement League? I get my fix of grammar bitchiness with my coffee! Good luck with your job search.

Hi Michelle, what an interesting post. That Mexican food looked mighty tasty. It’s my favorite, too.

What a great pictorial representation of your day. Reads like it was a very enjoyable day – I especially like the photos in the gym! LOL

OMG, the Grammar Bitch is hysterical! I’m going to have to start taking pictures of all the typos I see. They drive me nuts! Occupational hazard of being an editor, I guess.

I’m another one who’s been known to seriously irritate people by complaining when a sign has some incorrect use of language. I remember driving my college boyfriend absolutely batty about a ‘no trespassing’ sign between our two dormitories …. Glad I’m in such good company!

Very fun to follow your day 😉 You had some good food, for sure! My photos would just be of my office and treadmill -how dull!

How wonderful is that to have a friend stitching the same piece you are and able to compare the two!
The rest of your post was too funny, like your style. 🙂

I’m glad to hear that your interview turned into two; that’s always a good sign! Have you heard any more from them yet?

Very fun post, Michelle. That grammar bit surely resonated with the inner punctuation stickler within me. I’m thinking a Sharpie would be most tempting . . .
