Well, here I am finally with “C”. I’ve chosen a couple of things to represent “C”. First and foremost, of course is…
Cozy Egg: You may wonder where this name came from. Several years ago, I decided to start making and selling bath salts and other bath products made with essential oils. I needed a name to sell them under, and wanted to choose something that would be a good name if I chose to use it in the future for other ventures. So, I came up with the name Cozy Egg. I participated in a local craft fair and sold a variety of products. You can see my table in the photo above. I sold bath salts, bath teas, salt scrubs, milk baths, gift baskets, etc. A friend of mine made soaps as well to sell under the Cozy Egg label. I don’t do as much with my bath salts these days, mainly due to lack of space to make them. But, I do still enjoy them and keep some on hand for myself.
Costume Design: When I was at school, I came really close to going into Costume Design rather than Art History, although I think the two sort of go hand in hand. I have such a love of movies and of costuming, that I think it would have been a great fit. But, Renaissance Woman though I may be, I guess I can’t do everything. I thought I’d share with you a few examples that I like.
’tis the season – I thought I’d choose two from Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
I’m such a sucker for a red dress.

And Lucy’s Snake Dress.

Another favorite movie, The Age of Innocence.

Elizabeth

And of course, Marie Antoinette – love this photo.

There’s a little more about me, oh and one more thing… I’ve got some more Halloween decorating photos from my house over at the other blog, cozystyle.
I am grateful for my love of beauty.
This is great fun to learn about you this way. Now I know where Cozy Egg comes from. Dani (TKD Chick) and I went to see the new “Elizabeth” movie Thursday night. The costumes were amazing, breathtaking, stunning, awesome etc. Go see the movie.
I see it is still really hot in Texas. I am going back to see my sister for two weeks on Nov. 1st. Hope it has cooled some by then.

Neat to know that you started off selling bath salts, etc. I can imagine it’s hard to give something like that up. I’d love to have … an extra house! … to hold all the hobbies I’d love to indulge in. 😉
Those costumes are amazing. WOW!

I’ve been wondering where Cozy Egg came from!
Love the dresses! The red one especially is to die for! I love old-fashioned dresses, too, and although I can sew, I could never even think about doing something as gorgeous as those you posted!

I love the photo from Marie Antoinette! Now just add stitching, and that would be just perfect!

Oh, Michelle, to spend a few days with you just wandering around the Flea Market in Paris, and then being locked in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts in the storage room for antique Textiles! Wouldn’t we have some fun!!! I love everything you do…thanks for the pictures, as always. I watched the “Marie Antoinette” movie (Sofia Coppola/Kirsten Dunst) this weekend…again. This time concentrating on the embellishments and shoes… Oh, to die for!
Hugs,
Deb
