We are back from Philadelphia and had a fabulous trip! We took 600 or so photos, so as soon as we have a chance to sort through them, I’ll post some to show you the amazing places we went. One of the fun parts of coming home from a trip, though, is putting a new pin in our map. I bought this map for Eric as a wedding present. It is framed and has a metal plate on one corner that says “The World Travels of Eric and Michelle”. Since we both wanted to travel, it seemed appropriate as a way to start our new life together. So, here’s part of it (the only part that has pins). The red ones are for the places we’ve been, the green one is where we want to go, and the flag is for our next trip (New York). We’ve been to Chicago twice, but alas, only one pin can go there!

While we were in Philadelphia, we were able to meet up with Anna and The Dude, Jenna and Terry. I’ve never met any blogging friends before, so it was a new experience. We had a fabulous dinner, a lot of fun, and Anna surprised Jenna and I with stitched gifts. I love the little buttons on the flowers, and the Graziano linen. Beautiful! I think I’m going to take it to work to brighten up my little cubicle! Thank you again, Anna! Other than exchanges, I think this is my very first stitched gift.

Once back home, we had tons of mail to sort through. But, luckily I had something good in there. My Silkweaver Fabric of the Month came. The green is Spanish Moss and the gold is Antique Gold. I am imagining something Halloweeny on the gold, or maybe Autumnal at the very least. Pretty!

Thanks for all of the wonderful comments on Their Song. It felt so good to have that finished before we left. I’ve got everything picked out and ready to start on Katrina’s RR, but since I am still so tired, I thought it best to get a few good nights of sleep before I attempt it. So, the past couple of evenings I picked up Baby Garden to work on. It’s been a long while since I showed a progress photo of this one. I finally finished that over one Goldfish Pond (after completely ripping it out once). I’ve covered my Goddaughter’s name obviously, too. This band marks the halfway mark I think on the piece, so I am hoping that now that I am past those goldfish, the rest will go quickly.
Eric and I are going shopping for my new sewing machine today, since my birthday is Wednesday, it’s about time we got to it! Tonight we are going over to my parents house for an early celebration with them…I think there is some Lemon Meringue Pie in my future!! That’s about it for me today, hope you’re having a great weekend!
I am grateful for meeting new friends.
That map is such a neat idea! I love it 🙂 We travel a lot too 😀
The small gift is so sweet! And I am glad you had such a fun trip.

Michelle, I am so glad you are back, I missed your posts 🙂
Next, I think I do want to be you…you have the most lovely ideas. Now I would have NEVER thought about having a world map specially framed and then personalized with names to track our world travels. Now we don’t travel, not that I don’t want to someday, but its a little much with 4 kids. So a world map wouldn’t be great for me since my husband believes in travelling anywhere within driving distance of one day so he can always sleep in his own bed…LOL! SO that means instead of a world Map, I guess I need to purchase and frame a Indiana State Map, because I don’t think we as a family have ever been outside the state lines of Indiana…isn’t that sad? Well I guess we “were” one time, we were vacationing in FL and Katie was 14 mos. old and I got pregnant on the vacation…so maybe we HAVE been outside IN state lines as a family! LOL!
I think it and you are wonderful!

Welcome home! 🙂 Like everyone else, I think the map is a very cool idea. It would also help our kids learn geography a bit better than their ol’ mom did.
Love that project you’re working on for your goddaughter!

Your goldfish are the sweetest. What lovely gifts you have received. We too, have a map of all our travels. We have covered Canada from coast to coast and 42 of the 50 states – only 8 more to go. What a wonderful world we live in!
