Just Nan RR & Number 67

It is finally finished! I received my Just Nan Round Robin back from Jenna a couple of weeks ago, and needed to finish up my block and pull out the gridding stitches. Last night I sat down with my Kreinik braid and my beads and finished up my block. This is the Mermaid Heart WhimZi that comes with the Mermaid Heart chart. I intend to stitch the whole chart at some point, so I thought doing the WhimZi here would be perfect. I am more pleased with my block now that it has the beads on it – it looked so plain compared to the other blocks before.

And the whole piece…

Just Nan Round Robin
DMC, Kreinik and Beads with Bee and Snowflake Charms
28 Count Blue Dynasty by Silkweaver
October 2006 – June 2007

The top of the piece in the photo looks a little off, but I think that is just due to my photography “skills”. The lettering and the crown are both borrowed from my Queen of the Needle piece.

I can’t thank everyone enough for stitching on my piece: Michelle, Cathy, Allie, Carol, Angi, Kari, Jenna and Jenny. Thank you all so much!! This was my first Round Robin to participate in and I am now officially able to cross #67 off of my 101 Things in 1001 Days list “Participate in a Round Robin”. Hurrah!! I will probably be framing this soon, as I want to be able to enjoy it.

I have so many projects I’d like to make headway on this weekend, not the least of which is finishing the gridding on my Neighborhood RR and starting to stitch my block. I have about a month before the first mailing. I have some finishing on a few pieces I’d like to do, as well as piecing the backs of my two quilts I am having quilted so I can drop them off and piecing the top of my kimono quilt. Oh yeah, and I need to practice my knitting increases and decreases. Here’s hoping! I am also getting a massage tomorrow morning. It’s gonna be a full weekend!!

I am grateful for my beautiful RR.

  1. pretty block. The finish is a beautiful piece. I just recently am thinking of joining a RR. It is a piece to be cherished.
