Just Nan RR Round 3

As I mentioned yesterday, I was able to finish up my part on Jenny’s RR. Jenny is making her piece into a foldable book. I opted to stitch the pin cushion and stitched Just Nan’s Beaded Rose (thanks, Sue!). Since this is going to be a pincushion, I left off the beads and used Kreinik instead to still give it some sparkle. I think the colors work well with what has been stitched so far. Here is the whole thing so far…

And here is the second piece of fabric…

I do hope Jenny likes it! I have a little while before this has to be mailed out, but I am glad to have finished it with time to spare. I was anxious to get back to my rotation. Last night I finished reading my book for my book club, The Sun Also Rises, by Hemingway. This is the first book of Hemingway’s that I’ve read and it was quite good. I enjoyed the descriptions about the bull fights and the fiesta in Spain. It brought a little warmth to my cold days here. I also worked on Lemon Meringue Sampler a little bit last night as well. I have the piece of pie to stitch and then two rows of specialty stitches. I should be done with this one by the end of the month, I hope. The threads I ordered from Stitching Bits & Bobs for my February sheep blanket are on backorder…so who knows when I will be able to get that stitched. Anyway, I am off to class tonight. I would prefer to be snuggled up at home stitching, but my life does not allow me to hibernate…much!

Walk to Rivendell: due to ice, I did Pilates last night instead of walking. Hopefully walking will resume on Wednesday!

I am grateful for warm sweaters. Man, I wish I could knit!

I like your RR. I have been wishing for some ice or snow so that we could hibernate. The dude tells me I’m a nut.

REally, really pretty piece! I’ve only just found a love of smaller projects and in particular Biscornus, so have been looking for little square patterns to fit the bill. I’m new to Just Nan but a lot of her designs are perfect for these smaller items.

I love what you’ve done with your piece and the krenik works really well in place of the beads 🙂

(I’m a lapsed knitter but just bought myself some new pins to knit my daughter a warm sweater……..hope I haven’t forgotten how, heh,)

  3. That’s a lovely piece you did for the RR. I’m always so glad to see what you’ve stitched because it means I get it next! 😉
