Last Two

Kimonos 060107

Hurrah, I finished my last two kimonos! I just really got into a groove with them, and they started to actually flow and be easy when I got near the end of these. But, my wall-hanging only needs nine, so here they all are!

Kimonos All 060107

I have cut the sashing and border fabric and will be piecing the top together as soon as Eric and I decide on which kimonos should go where in the layout. I always like to have a second pair of eyes when I’m deciding on a layout. Love love love how these turned out.

Their Song 060407

I stitched on Their Song too over the weekend. I love the colors in it, and it is such a fun stitch. I also made a small start too on Tesori yesterday while Eric was out. Once I have enough done to warrant a photo, I’ll share. For now, it is just some red stitches on a HUGE piece of fabric. I am stitching it on 32 count. I didn’t want to go any smaller count than that because it has a lot of backstitching, etc. and I didn’t want to lose the detail. But, my fabric is like 25 x 40″. Huge. But, I figured I’d best get a start on it if I intend to have it done for our second anniversary!

I start my knitting class tomorrow, which I am very excited about. It should be a lot of fun, and it will be great to get out of the office one afternoon a week. I’ll let you know how it goes! I am feeling a little better after the weekend, a little more myself, which is nice. We watched the next movie in our Academy Award list, The Greatest Show on Earth. A really good movie, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Next up is From Here to Eternity.

I am grateful for long talks.

Happy Sunday, friends! This piece was a mystery sa Happy Sunday, friends! This piece was a mystery sampler published in the first five issues of The Gift of Stitching magazine beginning in February of 2006. I started this in 2007 and finally finished it several years later, turning it into a ten year anniversary sampler for Eric and I. I chose my fabric based on what Carol of Garden of Stitches chose for hers. I ran out of one of the Vikki Clayton silks midway through this piece and @senoritastitches kindly lent me some of hers so I could finish (this was pre-Vikki returning to dyeing).

I really love this piece with its motifs and specialty stitches, so I wanted to share it for both #xstitchsamplersunday and #saltboxstitcherweeklysamplerpal - @carolfun53 has been doing her #xstitchsamplersunday for about a year now, so I highly recommend taking a look at all the beautiful pieces shared on that hashtag.

For the first Friday the 13th of the year and #dar For the first Friday the 13th of the year and #dark13stitching @eclecticpossessions suggested we work on Tombstone Spots. We started this piece last year on the only Friday the 13th of 2022 and I think I’ve worked on it a couple times since then. Really love this piece and happy to have it out again.
