Lightning Strikes

Eerie 092610

Not a lot of progress to show on Garden of Eerie, but I did get my clouds finished. I’ve made a tiny little start on the tree which isn’t shown in this photo. I am quite enjoying stitching on this though now that I’ve (hopefully) gotten past all the issues I was having. It’s a fun little piece and I can’t wait to get more of the tree stitched.

I’ve also gone back to working on And They Sinned once a week with my PIC. I’m determined to get that dang cloud finished. You can see my last progress photo here. I’m having some issues with the placement of my cloud so I’ve had to do a lot of ripping out and restitching. Yesterday I decided to stitch the border vine on either side to help me with checking my placement. So, next time I pick it up I should have a better idea of if I have any further placement issues or if I can start filling in the right hand side of my cloud. I’m hoping that I’m good to go and can move forward. I’ll be sure to post a progress photo next time.

Not much else going on around here other than I’ve been sick and work has been kicking my ass.

I’m grateful for getting to sleep in until 8:30am both days this weekend.

  1. You can do it!! Get that cloud put in its proper spot and stitch like there is no tomorrow, and bam! you are done with that cloud of dooooooom!!

  3. The cloud was terrible, I outlined it and did the motifs inside and then just filled in. Love your Garden of Eerie!!!!

  5. Oh hon – that is just so frustrating. It makes it difficult to work on a piece when the placement just won’t stay right. Hopefully it is behind you now. Love those scissors. How appropriate!

  7. You have some great projects going! Good luck with ATS. That cloud does look intimidating. Hope you’re feeling better and work treats you better this week.

  9. That cloud is a killer. I am an ATS dropout. Hope you’re back to 100% soon–there’s a nasty virus going around here!

  17. Your Garden of Eerie is going to be so cool. That cloud was neverending but once you get pass it no problem. Sylvia is a good friend I have been eyeing the A&E plate for sometime.

  19. GoE looks great, Michelle! I am sorry to hear about the cloud issues. I did like Katrina said & outlined it and the filled it in. If it’s any consolation, I felt like once the flippin’ cloud was done, it was smooth sailing. Hang in there!

  21. I love GoE, Michelle! I stitched it last year and completely forgot it was in my pile to be framed, and now it’s too late to get it done and hung this year. 🙁
