I was laid off at work this morning. They are “getting rid of my job function”. Regular post tomorrow.

I am grateful for a new adventure.

  3. How awful, Michelle! I was laid off of a job once many years ago, I cried for hours. Maybe this will be an opportunity for you to explore new options and adventures. Congratulations on the weight loss.

I hope that being grateful for a new adventure means that you are okay with “being made redundant.” I wonder if “getting rid of a job function” makes people think they aren’t really laying off people. Why do they always do this at holiday time?

  9. Hurray for you Michelle! You are beginning a new adventure. That winning attitude will bring a myriad of great things into your life – may one of them be a fantastic new job. 🙂

  11. Oh no, that sucks. What is wrong with companies doing that right at the holidays? I’m sure you’ll probably find something better though.

  15. well dammmmmm, I was really hoping you were going to be spared! What a horrible time of year for this to happen, but of course there’s never a good time. When is the layoff effective? Immediately?

You are right about new adventures are around the corner for you .. just get through the pissed off/sad/angry/tears state and it’s smooth sailing for you from there .. hang in there sweetie

  19. We are always told that everything happens for a reason. My wish is that your reason is something exciting, new and challenging.

  23. I am so sorry for your present work situation, I’m sure it threw you for a loop. However I’m grateful that you’re grateful and always remember, “when God closes a door he opens a window.”

  25. I’m sorry you’ve been laid off, but I think you’re right to consider it a chance for something new.

I’ve been laid off three times in my working career, and although it sucks at the time, it’s always led me into something better … my current situation being a case in point!

Good luck in finding your own new adventure!

  27. Being laid off=more time for stitching! I’ve been laid off one time, and I was so busy being freaked out that I didn’t enjoy the down time. I found a new job quickly, as I hope you will (if you want one).

  29. Michelle OMG I’m so sorry to hear that! What a frightening thing! I’m sure you will make the best of it and this closed door will lead to an awesome open window opportunity for you! You are in my thoughts! ((hugz))
    p.s. I didn’t get your email?

  31. I like your photo because it’s so apt. When one door closes another one opens and I’m sure a great opportunity lies ahead for you. If it makes you feel any better, I was recently told that I need to find another position with the company I work for. I’ll be thinking of you. *hug*

Michelle, There’s nothing more disappointing than being laid off from your job, especially at the holidays. I’m so sorry. It really is awful of them to do. This is just a sign of the economic world we live in, so I hope you aren’t taking this personally. You’ll no doubt find a new position in good time. Sending many hugs, and lots of well wishes to wipe away the awful webs of disappointment…
    Love and hugs,
