Obligatory Cat Photos

Thank you all for your concerns and well-wishes for Hamlet. He appears to be mostly back to his old self. I say mostly because the past two nights he has decided to sleep on my head at night. Trust me, sharing a pillow with a 16-pound Maine Coon is not sleep-inducing. But, if it makes him feel better, I am willing to share, for a little while. The extra pain medication we gave him after he came home seems to have helped and he doesn’t seem to be as stiff and hurting. While we’re getting ready in the mornings, I can usually find him leaning against his favorite pillow watching us rush around.

I thoroughly enjoyed my knitting class again yesterday. While she was teaching every one else to purl, she taught me how to do two types of increases and two types of decreases. I don’t know that I feel completely comfortable with those yet, but I will practice this week. And for those who asked, the orange yarn was what was provided for me at class. I haven’t had a lot of time for stitching this week. Monday I had class and didn’t get home until 9:30, so no stitching. Last night, we went to my parents’ house for dinner and to celebrate my dad’s birthday. We didn’t get home until 9:30 or so again, so no stitching. I have managed to get in a little stitching on Tesori since my last update though. It is coming along.

I am hoping that tonight allows me some down time to stitch. That would be welcomed! I still have my Neighborhood RR spread out across the dining room table as well, so I need to get back to my gridding.

I am grateful for Hamlet feeling better.

  1. Oh my heavens, what a handsome cat! I love Maine Coons. But the hair! My allergies barely permit me to be in the same room with our Spin the Cat, a shorthair former stray … I think I’d rupture something from sneezing if I had such a long-haired beauty!

I’m so glad to hear your furbaby is getting better!

Hamlet is such a handsome lad! (You could introduce him to Plume! :o) I’m sure he’d be wonderful to cuddle up with when it’s cold!

  5. Oh, such a beautiful cat you have Michelle. Hamlet looks like he could be husband to my Little Cutie – they have a lot in common.
I am only just getting back to reading blogs and therefore didn’t know he was unwell. I’m glad he’s in less pain.
Please give him a scratch for me, OK?

  9. I didn’t know Hamlet was unwell, I hope he feels better real soon. He’s so beautiful! I do understand what you mean about sharing a pillow with a Maine Coon because Plume is a Maine Coon and sometimes she sleeps on the pillow too, but most of the time, she stays on the bed, just at the place where my feet should be…
