Where does the time go? It has been cr-azy busy here, as you can probably imagine. I’ve been swamped at work, and of course still trying to keep up with school, the gym and find some time to spend with Eric. That sweet man brought me these gorgeous flowers a week or so ago. So, let’s see…what’s up? We had our shower in our master bath ripped out completely and rebuilt in order to finally finally fix the leaking that was happening downstairs. So far it all seems to be in order, but we’ve not moved anything back under those spots just in case. Othello had his teeth cleaned for the very first time (he’s 12, but has never needed them cleaned before). That was fun and excitement all around, let me tell you. He really especially loved the pink liquid antibiotics that we had to stuff down his throat for two weeks. But he did very well with the teeth cleaning and did not have to have any extractions to boot! I finally, finally finished the book I was reading for my book club, Stealing Athena. Eh. I decided to follow it up with something a little more fast-paced, so a Stephanie Plum re-read was in order. I’ve only read the first in the series, so I’m re-reading before moving onto the next ones. Let’s see…what else? We had to adjust Romeo’s insulin dosage again, but he seems to be doing a little better on it. I wish that I had more time to spend with him, because he could really use some lap time, I think. I spent one whole Saturday watching Season 1 of Laguna Beach, because really that’s about all the brain function I have these days. I enjoyed myself though.
In stitching news, I finally finished up my August block for Red Thread – see below. I am well-pleased with that! AND my Kimonos quilt has been quilted, so I get to go and pick it up this weekend. I am so excited about that! Woohoo!!! I did make a start on my September block, but I’m not very far along on it. I went to my monthly guild meeting on Tuesday night and had a fabulous time. I didn’t finish up the stitching on my biscornu ornament, which I was disappointed about, but I hope to get some time to work on it this month. I also stitched a little on my Mystery Sampler – still trying to rip out and correct those errors. I’m not even going to bother reviewing my goals for September, because they mostly went out the window. I did finish the RR I needed to finish, and I did finish my August block. That’s about it. No quilting, nothing else. Sigh. One of these days, I will have time to stitch again. I am going to set goals for October though, even though October is quickly zipping along. These are more like things I’d like to get done, rather than have-to’s.
Stitch on Red Thread – get caught up (stitch September and October blocks, work on border)
Stitch and finish biscornu ornament
Stitch and finish TSRG nametag
Binding and label for Kimonos quilt – hang
Start on 3rd Day ornament for Eric
Apologize to Anna for being a slacker and not stitching on our SAL, nor sending her a birthday gift that I had hoped to stitch up.
I hope that October allows me more time to get some things done. Wouldn’t that be nice?!
And, if you’ve made it all the way to the end of this lengthy post…here’s my finished Ocean Voyage block.

Bent Creek

I totally understand crazy busy. I suppose the alternative is not cool at all, but a little calm would be a nice break.
Love that tiny crab on the red thread! lol
