Eric brought me these gorgeous roses today, in honor of our six months of marriage. These are called Polo. I thought I’d put them somewhere other than my kitchen window for a change. This is my dining room. This dining table, chairs and side table were our first furniture purchases together. It has been a wonderful six months. I’m weepy though today. I just seem to be having a hard time emotionally lately, and part of that may from feeling so overwhelmed with my commitments (social and stitching). I have done what I can to ease the load a little though. My new Halloween exchange piece is coming along well, though. I should easily be able to finish it before next weekend, which will give me next weekend to do the finishing on it. I did get something big accomplished this weekend. While I was at Joann’s looking for fabric for my exchange, I found a frame that was the perfect size for my Quaker Garden piece…for $7.98 AND I had a 40% off coupon. You can’t beat that with a stick! Obviously, it is not a high quality frame, but I think it looks pretty good. And I was so pleased to have this framed and not in the bucket of finished pieces.

And on top of that…I got to cross off another item on my 101 Things list – #43 “Frame one stitched piece myself”. So, this was my first attempt at framing one of my pieces and I think it came out well. So, here is Quaker Garden by Blackbird Designs. And finally, I have some stash to show you. I finally received my order from Stitching Bits & Bobs from like two months ago (why is it that it takes them so long to fill orders?). I ordered the new Shepherd’s Bush Stocking and the Christmas Cottages chart from Medeiros Needlecraft. I thought those might be cute to make. Yesterday, at the quilt store I picked up this pattern for fabric postcards. I thought it might be fun to make fabric ATCs (Artist Trading Cards).

Well, that’s all I know for today. It’s been kind of a rough weekend for me. Hope you all are having a good one!
I am grateful for being a woman.
Congrats on framing QG yourself. It looks fantastic!
Hope you got a good sleep and the week is kind to you 🙂
The roses are lovely – obviously a thoughtful DH 🙂 And your Quaker Garden is great – simple frames work so well on this one – it looks really good!
Happy Anniversary! The roses are beautiful. Quaker Garden looks perfect in that frame!!
I hope you have a good week ahead. I know what you mean about feeling weepy sometimes. It happens to me, too!
How sweet of Eric – those flowers are gorgeous! My DH *never* buys me flowers LOL!
Sorry you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed and weepy at the moment, hope this week is better for you.
Congratulations on framing QG yourself – it looks fabulous!
Beautiful roses! 🙂 Love your dining set, so classy.
The frame you chose for your Quaker Garden is just gorgeous – and doesn’t look at all “cheap”, believe me!
Hope your week will be better than the weekend, Michelle…
Ditto on the thankfulness at being a woman. I really love your ending lines “I am grateful for”… Beautiful idea!
Happy 6th Month Anniversary, Michelle. The roses are gorgeous. I also love your dining room furniture.
Congrats on the framing finish. You did a great job.
We had a busy weekend too. I felt like I never sat down since Thursday night. I am looking forward to a downtime type week here. Next weekend is almost as busy as this past weekend.
Congrats on your six month anniversary-love your roses. Your DH is very sweet. I think your QG turned out great- and the frame suits it very well. I just attempted to frame something-but I am not too happy with it. How did you secure your stitched peice and did you use batting? Think positive-it will get better. Have a good week.
Looks like your first framing came out really well. 🙂
And Congrats on your anniversary. 🙂
Happy anniversary!
I just found your blog via Isabelle’s (Kitty Couture). I will definitely be visiting again! :o)
Oh, Michelle! Happy 6 mo. Anniversary!! It was so sweet of your dh to bring you roses. 😀
I understand your feelings – I felt the very same in the months following our wedding and had to cut back on some of my activities until I’d adjusted to my new life. You’ll feel better soon!
Especially if you keep producing such amazing stitched pieces and frame them so economically, lol! Excellent!
Happy semi-anniversary! I think you did a great job with Quaker Garden. No worries. I hope that you feel better soon. I know what it’s like to have the weepies. Simplifying your life when it comes to commitments is one that really helps, at least it does for me. *hug*
(Beleated) congratulations on your six month anniversary. Those roses are so beautiful!! I think he’s definitely a keeper! 🙂
The frame for Quaker Garden is perfect, and you did such a wonderful job with the framing. When I attempt to frame it sadly NEVER turns out right!
