Someday Quilts

Thanks for the compliments on Spring Spell – it was a fun, quick stitch. On a completely different note, a couple of people have asked to see photos of the quilts I am working on. Well, we’ll use the term “working on” loosely. First, is my block of the month from my local quilt shop. These are all batik fabrics. I pick up a block each month and I get the fabrics and instructions included. I think I have two more that I need to sew up to be up to date.

These are my kimonos. I will be making a total of nine of these. These are paper-pieced. I took a class to learn how to do the paper-piecing for this quilt. I love these. Someday, the quilt will be hanging in our dining room to go with Eric’s swords.

And finally, this is a quilt called Pansy Park by Thimbleberries. These were a block of the month also several years ago. I think this will have a total of twelve blocks. I love the colors in it.

So, there you have it – all of my quilting WIPs.

And, since I promised an progress photo of Barnabee’s Quest after stitching on him on Friday, here it is. I am working on part 2.

I am grateful for learning how to quilt.

Love all of your quilt wips. A close friend of mine quilts by hand, and she made me one for Christmas last year. It is something that I treasure.

    Michelle,
Those little kimonos are wonderful! I have a pic of a quilt from some French quilt shop that’s my computer saver–(whatever it’s called page) and it’s of a Japanses wedding with kimonos. I’m going to try to post it on my blog so you can see it. Your kimonos are just beautifully pieced. Hugs, Deb

  19. I adore the kimono squares! Great work on Barnabee, too. I haven’t gotten that far yet, but I’m going to continue working on him as I can.
