Tired

2006 Finishes, Beading, Books, My Nest, Stitching, Winter Snapperland / December 15, 2006 by Michelle / 13 Comments

Sorry everyone that my posts have been so sporadic of late. This week has been really tiring. I finished up my class module and now have three weeks off, which I can sure use. I have been continuing with my weights in my workouts. I am also officially on vacation for a week (I go back to work the day after Christmas) as of 5 o’clock today. I am just so tired. I haven’t stitched at all this week since Monday. Does that tell you how tired I am? But, here is my progress on my Winter Snapperland so far. I am almost finished with this part. I have the trees, some smoke, and stars to do (plus eyes on my snowman). And you have to go and take a look at this French blog. She turned her Winter Snapperland into a cube. I love this idea!

I will probably end up just framing mine. But, she even gives you a tutorial on this blog so you can make one too! And since I have no progress to show you really, I thought I would throw in another finish from earlier in the year. I made this purse for my wedding. I beaded the entire thing and then attached the frame. I’ve never done beading to this extent before, and I’ve never attached a purse frame to anything. So this was a reallll learning experience.

I stitched on satin with little seed pearls and then used gold delicas for the initials. The fabric it is laying on is fabric for my wedding quilt which I intend to get around to one of these days.

Also, I just wanted to make everyone aware of two things…first, I (among others) am unable to leave comments on beta blogs for some reason. I can only do it if your blog allows anonymous comments. Someone please tell me I don’t have to sign up for a freaking Google password in order to fix this. Secondly, I appreciate all of my fellow bloggers and I have so much respect for those of you that are stitching gifts or even sending cards to each other this season. I am not doing either, so I hope that no one is disappointed or feels neglected if you don’t get something from me. I am doing good to get gifts for my family. And my time is so precious these days, that I just can’t spread myself any thinner. So, I hope you all understand. That’s all I know for today…I am off to try to finish reading Labyrinth (it’s good, go get it).

I am grateful for the love of my life.

Nice purse! I haven’t done much beading, other than on cross stitch projects

Don’t worry, I’m not sending out Christmas cards either. Too much stuff going on right now.

Lovely purse. I was thinking of trying to knit a beaded bag sometime in the near future; yours is very inspiring 🙂

Happy Sunday, friends! This piece was a mystery sa Happy Sunday, friends! This piece was a mystery sampler published in the first five issues of The Gift of Stitching magazine beginning in February of 2006. I started this in 2007 and finally finished it several years later, turning it into a ten year anniversary sampler for Eric and I. I chose my fabric based on what Carol of Garden of Stitches chose for hers. I ran out of one of the Vikki Clayton silks midway through this piece and @senoritastitches kindly lent me some of hers so I could finish (this was pre-Vikki returning to dyeing).

I really love this piece with its motifs and specialty stitches, so I wanted to share it for both #xstitchsamplersunday and #saltboxstitcherweeklysamplerpal - @carolfun53 has been doing her #xstitchsamplersunday for about a year now, so I highly recommend taking a look at all the beautiful pieces shared on that hashtag.

For the first Friday the 13th of the year and #dar For the first Friday the 13th of the year and #dark13stitching @eclecticpossessions suggested we work on Tombstone Spots. We started this piece last year on the only Friday the 13th of 2022 and I think I’ve worked on it a couple times since then. Really love this piece and happy to have it out again.
