I went from having nothing to share to having so much to share I don’t know where to begin. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet had a chance to load photos and edit photos for all the good stuff I have to show you. But I thought I’d pop in quickly and share a couple of things I’ve been busy with.
My niece decided that she wanted to be the Mad Hatter (the Johnny Depp Mad Hatter, of course) for Halloween and could I please make her a hat? So, made her a hat I did.
We found a hat at the Halloween store and I used that as the starting point.
I made the hatpins.

I thought it turned out nicely.

I also bought her some wild fabric to tie around her neck in a big floppy bow and some things to do her hair and makeup. So, she should be all set for tonight!
October is always a crazy busy month for us, and this one has been no exception. I’ve been to the Arboretum to see the Chihuly exhibit, to the State Fair and saw the Chinese Lantern Exhibit, we celebrated Eric’s birthday, and I attended my Betsy Morgan workshop that EGA held.
I didn’t manage to get my quilt finished for the Tula Pink sew along, but last night I got to meet the woman herself on her way back from Quilt Market in Houston.

I can hardly contain my excitement for her new line and I’m anxious to get back to my sewing.
So, that’s what I’ve been up to and I will have photos and recaps to share with you soon. Tonight we will celebrate the holiday in the usual style by ordering a pizza and watching Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Thanks for stopping by to see what I’ve been up to!
I am grateful for a full dance card.
What an amazing hat. I LOVE it.
Look forward to reading what you have been up to. Glad you are enjoying your busy times.

That hat turned out SOOOOO cool! And I still think it’s amazing that you met your bezzie mate in person. 😉
Did you know Bram Stoker graduated from Trinity College? Useless information provided by the parent of a Trinity student. LOL

Wow – what a gorgeous hat! I hope she gave it back to you when she was finished, so you can have it on display somewhere – it’s simply too nice to discard!
Yay on meeting Tula Pink! How awesome for you!
