Thank you so much for tuning in to the Cozyegg flosstube/podcast! In this episode I share a start and a finish as well as more progress on Sarah Ann Banton. Plus, what I’ve been reading. Music: Bensound
Litha Summer Solstice freebie from The Primitive Hare stitched on 28ct Cameo by Silkweaver with the called for DMCs except I used CC Roasted Chestnut for the center of the flower and CC Blackbird for the dark brown. I did some grunging afterwards with coffee grounds. This was a quick start & a finish in June.
Moon Phases by The Little Stitcher – Weeks, GAST, DMC on 32ct Midnight Tryst by Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie – converted the skin and hair colors for the outer two ladies. This is my #dark13stitching focus piece. (#dark13stitching is something I host with Emily of Eclectic Possessions where we stitch on our spooky, dark, macabre, gothic pieces on the 13th of every month.
Sarah Ann Banton 1833 by Cozyegg Designs (me!) – AVAS Soie d’Alger on 40ct Weeks Putty. I’ve hit the halfway point on Sarah and loving every stitch!
I will be working on Moon Phases again for #dark13stitching in July and we’ll see how far I can get on that top border. And, of course, I’ll continue working on Sarah as well.
And continuing on with stitching the sabbat pieces from Primitive Hare, I’ll be stitching up the next one in line, Lammas. I’d like to have this one finished before August 1st.
I read the first and second books by Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Dark Elements series, White Hot Kiss and Stone Cold Touch. I really enjoyed these and I’m looking forward to reading the next one in the series.
I also read two books for June’s challenge in a book group I’m in to read a book with LGBTQ characters or by an LGBTQ author for Pride month. Both of these were excellent and I highly recommend them.
Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness is my current read. This is the second book in the All Souls trilogy and the sequel to A Discovery of Witches.
I’ll do a deeper dive into these books over on my Cozystyle blog at the end of the month, if you’re interested.
