The next selection for the Absinthe & Shadows Literary Society is The Fox Wife by Yangsze Choo. I wanted to read something wintery and this book that is part historical fiction, part detective novel, part folktale seemed like the perfect choice. We’re closing in on the end of the year and I wanted to share some memories from the past twelve months. There’s been some bitter with the sweet, but we’re stepping forward into this new year with gratitude and intention. I am so thankful for each of you - for your friendship, your support, your love for my two boys, and the inspiration you give me. Happy New Year, my friends.

Thut and I had such a lovely day today. We spent the day at the Jingle Ball and it was a chilly rainy day outside. I stitched and got to take a class, talk about charts on our wishlists with friends, and listen to Christmas music. My boy napped and sat with me all day, which I am so grateful for. It’s taken him a couple days to recover from an appointment with a cardiologist on Thursday, where we got some unexpected news. So, days like today are definitely not something I will take for granted. ✨
