Product Description
For those that are serious about communicating with spirits, I’ve offered a bundle of the first two designs in my planchette series.
The Death’s Head Planchette:
The Death’s Head Planchette is the first in a series of planchette designs that was originally released as an exclusive chart for Dark October Sรฉance 2021 participants. The model was stitched using overdyed threads and DMC on 40 count Ale by Picture This Plus. The beautiful handcrafted board was generously provided by Homestead Needleworkes. The stitch count for the design is 74w x 95h.
This design features a Death’s Head moth, creeping vines, crescent moons, and the words “Yes” and “No” as a nod to the use of the planchette with a ouija board.
The Beyond the Veil Planchette:
The Beyond the Veil Planchette is the second in a series of planchette designs that was originally released as an exclusive chart for Dark October Sรฉance 2022 participants. The model was stitched using overdyed threads and DMC on 40 count Anthracite by Zweigart. The beautiful handcrafted board was generously provided by Homestead Needleworkes. The stitch count for the design is 74w x 95h.
This design features two keys – one facing up and one facing down to represent the idea of “As above, so below”. It also features green mist or smoke to represent the idea of communicating beyond the veil, stars and a moon to represent the other side, and in the center a keyhole (representing a doorway) with the symbols for the four elements surrounding it.
Both charts offer a DMC conversion for the overdyed threads used, but I would recommend using what you have on hand since so little is needed for these designs.
Planchette is a French word meaning “little plank”. A planchette is a triangular or heart-shaped tool that often had a pencil attached and was used for automatic writing. Planchettes have typically been used in conjunction with ouija boards (also known as spirit slates or talking boards) to communicate with spirits. These devices gained popularity during the Victorian spiritualism movement and were often used in sรฉances.
