Henriettaโ€™s sampler spoke to me of those last days of summer, when you start to see the beginnings of autumn make their appearance.

The alternate verse reads:
The days of August,
when the sun is hot and
the breeze is warm,
and the days are
long and sweet,
and life is forever
a thing of promise.

The original verse reads:
Now in my early days
Teach me thy will to know
O God thy sanctifying grace
Betimes on me bestow

My heart to folly prone
Direct by truth divine
Unite it to thyself alone
And make me wholly thine
